Day 1: Entebbe to Mabamba Swamp and Jinja

After breakfast at your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala, your driver-guide will brief you on the week ahead before you travel west to Mabamba Swamp. Here you’ll board a small boat and glide through papyrus mats in search of the legendary shoebill. Following your swamp excursion, pause at the elegant Gaddafi National Mosque for a rooftop panorama over Kampala. In the afternoon, set off on a scenic three-hour drive to Jinja, Uganda’s adventure capital. Overnight at 2 Friends Hotel (or similar).

Day 2: White-Water Rafting on the Nile

Rise early for breakfast and a short transfer to the Bujagali rapids, where you’ll embark on either a half-day or full-day white-water rafting adventure. Navigate thrilling Grade II–V currents—rapids like “The Alien” and “Oblivion”—with occasional calm pools for photo stops. A riverside barbecue lunch breaks up the action. In the late afternoon, return to your hotel to relax, review photos, and swap stories around the campfire. Overnight at 2 Friends Hotel or similar.

Day 3: Source of the Nile and Sipi Falls

Begin with breakfast at your Jinja hotel, then visit the historic Source of the Nile monument and jetty. From there, drive east into the foothills of Mount Elgon, arriving at Sipi River Lodge by midday. After lunch, enjoy a guided nature walk to panoramic viewpoints overlooking the three tiers of Sipi Falls. Watch the sun dip below the escarpment while sipping sundowner cocktails on the cliff-top terrace. Overnight at Sipi River Lodge or Similar.

Day 4: Abseiling, Rock Climbing & Coffee Tour

Fuel up with breakfast before descending by abseil down the upper fall, then test your skills on natural cliff-face rock-climbing routes. A picnic lunch beside the roaring water restores your energy, after which you’ll tour a local coffee estate. Learn each step of bean-to-cup processing, then sample freshly roasted brews. Day 5: Sipi to Moroto and Karamojong Village Stay

After an early breakfast, depart northward toward Moroto, enjoying sweeping savannah views en route. Arrive at Kara-Tunga Safari Camp in time for lunch served beneath acacia trees. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in Karamojong culture: visit a Manyatta homestead, try your hand at bead-making, help prepare traditional dishes, and learn tribal dances. Day 7 Full Day Safari & Cultural Trail in Kidepo Valley NP

Experience a pre-dawn game drive for prime sightings of lions, cheetahs, and buffalo herds returning to their daytime grazing grounds. Return to the lodge for a hearty brunch and brief rest before embarking on a cultural trail with Karamojong guides. Learn ancient hunting techniques, visit a village school, then continue your wildlife sightings with a second, late-afternoon game drive. Enjoy cocktails at sunset before another peaceful night at Kidepo Savannah Lodge.

Day 8 Kidepo valley National Park transfer to to Gulu

Rise before dawn for one last game drive in search of leopards and hyenas. After breakfast at the lodge, journey southwest toward Gulu, stopping at roadside eateries for lunch. In Gulu, tour the Pece War Memorial before checking in at Churchill Courts Hotel. Sample northern Ugandan specialties—such as Luwombo chicken—at dinner before turning in for the night. Day 9 Gulu to Budongo, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Entebbe

On your final morning, head into Budongo Forest for a guided chimpanzee trek, listening for hoots and cracking branches. Mid-morning, drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track Uganda’s wild white rhinos on foot. After a picnic lunch among the grasslands, set off on the four-hour return drive to Kampala or Entebbe, where your guide will escort you to your hotel or the airport, completing your nine-day Ugandan odyssey.
