Begin the day with an early breakfast, then visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s history and honor the victims of the 1994 genocide. After the memorial visit, continue your journey to Volcanoes National Park. After breakfast, head to Kinigi Park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on your first gorilla trek. Hike through lush rainforest and spend a magical hour with a habituated gorilla family. Visit a local community in the morning for a cultural experience, then venture into Kibale Forest in the afternoon for a chimpanzee trek. After an early breakfast, travel back into Rwanda toward Akagera National Park. This scenic drive offers a shift from forest to savannah and prepares you for classic big-game wildlife encounters. Overnight: Akagera Game Lodge or similar
