After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, Rwanda, your professional safari guide and driver with a vast knowledge of Rwanda/Uganda trips, will meet and greet you. You will get a safari briefing about the 3-day gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla NP through Rwanda. You can visit the Kigali Genocide Museum to pay your last respects to the victims of the 1994 Rwandan genocide against Tutsi. This visit lasts about an hour and a half to two hours and will be followed by a transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Uganda. Your overnight stay is at Travelers Rest Hotel or similar.

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the ranger station for a gorilla trekking briefing on the dos and don’ts while interacting with gorillas. Afterwards, you will be accompanied by a senior ranger guide and hike into the forest in search of gorillas. Once you find them, you will be allowed to stay with them for an hour. After the experience, you will return to Travelers Rest Hotel or similar for your overnight stay.

Please note that this is an optional second gorilla trekking experience and costs an additional $700. Alternatively, you’ll go for golden monkey trekking at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Afterwards, you will be accompanied by a senior ranger guide and hike into the forest in search of gorillas. Once you find them, you will be allowed to stay with them for an hour.
